In the Garden of Badthings
Vampires dance beneath the moon,
Eating blood plums with a spoon,
Killer bees and unicorns
Nestle down amongst the thorns,
While, at the top of every tree,
A dozen vultures stare at me.
‘Welcome home!’ the vultures say,
‘We’re sorry that you ran away,
But, now you’re back in our domain,
We’re sure you’ll never leave again!’
In the Garden of Bad Things is a children's Halloween poetry book written by Doug MacLeod and illustrated by Peter Thomson. It was published in 1981 by Kestrel Books in Ringwood, Victoria, Australia.
