I’m excited to share that I’ve begun work on a brand-new world-building project called Nocturna. Unlike my previous settings, Nocturna exists in a place that deliberately resists definition. It is set during an undisclosed period in history, within an unnamed city whose forgotten streets still conceal places long overlooked by the ordinary world.
At the heart of the setting is Nocturna, a private members’ club known only to those who are meant to find it. Hidden away in a quiet laneway, its doors open only on the twelfth night of each month, welcoming an eclectic gathering of collectors, librarians, storytellers, artists, magicians, dreamers, and keepers of forgotten knowledge. Although the club itself is the setting, I’ll also explore the people who inhabit this world: the odd proprietors who maintain Nocturna, its remarkable patrons, and the curious objects, stories, traditions, and mysteries that pass through its doors.
Not every question will be answered immediately. Part of Nocturna’s charm lies in its secrets, and I hope readers will enjoy discovering them one story, one character, and one forgotten artefact at a time.
Welcome to Nocturna.
The lantern has been lit.
